Quality Product, Affordable Price, Time-Consuming Installation
The wiring harness and hitch installation was very uncomplicated, although time consuming, for a person who doesn't do this type of thing every day and owns only home mechanic type tools. Something to note is that no instructions come in the box. There is a barcode you can scan to download installation instructions for each the hitch and the wiring harness. I would highly recommend printing at least the wiring harness instructions if possible to make keeping track of each step much easier. The wiring harness took the longest to install simply because most of the harness installs behind the driver's side trim in the trunk with the exception of one cord that needs to be wired to the battery which means it must be run down the entire length of the underside of the vehicle. This process was not complex, but required a lot of maneuvering around under the vehicle, running the cord under and over sections of the frame and zip tying every 6-8 inches, utilizing existing fuel line and/or brake line brackets. The hitch itself was extremely quick to install in comparison. Since my 2020 Tucson has a twin tip exhaust, we needed to unhook the passenger side exhaust hanger to be able to slide the hitch up underneath it. Based on the hitch installation videos I watched on YouTube, that step was largely unnecessary for Tucsons with single tip exhausts. All in all, with two of us working on it, the wiring harness took about 4 hours to install and the hitch took less than an hour. Even though it took an entire afternoon, it was well worth the several hundred dollar savings of having it professionally installed. The quality of the hitch itself as well as the wiring harness seem very high quality and well made. Highly recommend.
